• The Pied Piper of Hamelin is a well-known German folk tale. In this ‘soulslike’ action-RPG, the player steps into the role of the only surviving child, and, after losing their parents to the piper goes on a path of revenge.

While this game sadly never left the prototype phase, I wrote quite a lot of music for it. The main theme of the piper on the flute, with its ensnaring cyclic structure, serves as the thematic core and can be heard in variations in most of the other pieces as well, for example as an inverse in the soundtrack for the cat, the only beacon of hope for the lost child on his path through the dark alleys.

  • This little high score game was created at the annual semester game jam of the Technical University Munich. That means, everything you see and hear was created from scratch in under 48 hours (including an absolute minimum of sleep) on the university campus by a team of around 10 people.

The Topic ‘morphing’ was only reveled at the beginning of the event and our team decided to incorporate it by giving the player the ability to transform into different sea creatures and harness their movement abilities to evade the anglerfish for as long as possible. When they collect enough points, they are able to morph into an invulnerable whale for a short period of time, simply cutting through all obstacles – the music accompanies this with a soaring chorus, before returning back to its driven, rhythmical foundation.

  • As strange anomalies start appearing throughout her home town, threatening to destroy it, pandora is left with no other choice but to investigate. With the help of a special device, she is able to utilize both the present and the future of her world to stop the rifts from spreading and corrupting time itself.

Every part of the map has two soundtracks – a melodic version, full of curiosity and urgency for the present, and a dark and abstract, decayed version for the future. Switching timeline seamlessly morphs between the two. The main theme of the game was later recorded with the Budapest Scoring orchestra, when I was there as an assistant for a different project on a recording session – the entire soundtrack is available on all streaming platforms!
